Hi, I’m Benji! I’m a 4-year-old, 23-pound Chiweenie with a heart full of love and a personality that makes me pretty hard to resist! I’m a gentle, affectionate little guy who’s happiest when I’m close to my people. Life hasn’t always been kind to me, but you’d never know it from my sweet disposition. When I first came into rescue, I was covered in fleas and had lost quite a bit of fur because of them. Thankfully, those unwelcome guests are history and my coat is growing back beautifully! I’m currently being fostered in Albion, Michigan, where I’m getting a taste of the good life and hoping it’s just the beginning of something wonderful. I’m a mellow, easygoing boy with a medium-to-low energy level and a whole lot of love to share. I get along beautifully with people and other animals, and I’m perfectly happy enjoying a quiet day with my favorite humans. I’m not demanding or high-maintenance. A cozy place to curl up, some belly rubs and a little companionship are all I need to be one happy guy! I’m also in the home stretch of heartworm treatment, with just two injections left! The rescue is covering the entire cost of my treatment, so my future family won’t have to worry about that expense. I’ve already come such a long way, and I can’t wait to put this chapter behind me and start my happily ever after! I’m neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, with my remaining heartworm treatment being handled by the rescue. My adoption also includes one month of free pet insurance and a Fi Nano Mini GPS tracker with six months of tracking service. I may not need much to be happy, but I have an endless supply of love to give in return. If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly little companion who will appreciate every bit of kindness you show him, I’d love the chance to be your Benji!
